Plug-and-play at A20 Trade Center

During the renovation and expansion of the A20 Trade Center, the installer faced a challenge: creating a climate solution that would work perfectly for both the existing wing and the new building section. The old part required an efficient, easy-to-install total solution, while the new section demanded a fully customized design compatible with the existing VAV system. 

For the existing building, STULZ selected a Climapac Compact 30.15R air handling unit with a heat recovery wheel and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) heat pumps. The complete system was assembled at STULZ in Hoofddorp and delivered plug-and-play – ready for immediate installation. 
For the new section, a custom air handling unit was designed, featuring a high-efficiency heat recovery wheel and full VAV compatibility. At the last minute, an additional changeover coil was added – a testament to the flexibility and close collaboration between STULZ and Airlet Klimaattechniek. 

The result is an energy-efficient and reliable climate system, with all components perfectly aligned. The pre-assembled units save installers valuable time during installation and commissioning. Smart, cloud-based monitoring enables remote tracking and optimization of temperature, pressure, and fault conditions. 

In addition, the MHI KXZ VRF systems with VTCC technology provide up to 34% energy savings under partial load conditions. The A20 Trade Center now combines comfort, flexibility, and sustainability – perfectly reflecting the building’s social and environmental mission.
